CharterShop, a leading charter flight company, has announced that flights to Rhodes have already commenced from several international destinations, including Katowice (Poland) and Tallinn (Estonia). These services will continue through April to August 2025, signaling an early and promising start to the island’s tourism season.
First Charter Flight Arrival: March 29
The first charter flight of the season is expected at Rhodes Airport on March 29. According to Giannis Papavasileiou, President of the Rhodes Hoteliers Association, 2025 is shaping up to be a robust year, with a steady increase in bookings. Many of these are early bookings, spurred by discounts of up to 20%, positioning Rhodes to potentially break new tourism records.
Double-Digit Growth Across Greece
Giannis Chatzis, President of the Hellenic Federation of Hoteliers, confirmed that both Rhodes and Crete are witnessing double-digit growth in bookings—a trend emphasized during the recent ITB Berlin tourism exhibition.
With pre-bookings up 12% across all markets, Rhodes is firmly on track for a record-breaking season. This growth aligns with broader national trends, with Rhodes emerging as a key destination.
Surge in Demand from German-Speaking and Eastern European Markets
Interest from German-speaking countries, Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia is especially promising, with demand for Rhodes up by 17%, according to data from the DERTOUR Group.
The Return of German Tourists
One of the standout insights from ITB Berlin was the strong comeback of German tourists—Rhodes’ second-largest market. Despite previous economic and energy concerns, German travelers are returning in force, driven by political stability and renewed traveler confidence.
Last year, German bookings lagged behind other markets, but 2025 marks a clear turnaround, with notable growth already evident. There’s also heightened interest in travel during September and October, with October now the most popular month for German visitors. Additionally, there’s growing curiosity for travel into mid-November, though it remains to be seen if this will convert into solid bookings.
